Achal Ghai studied in India and after graduating as a MBA from FMS, University of Delhi in 1984 started his career with ICICI as a Project Finance Officer. He then joined American Express Bank as a Corporate Banker and then HSBC as Regional Head of Investment Banking, Northern India. As part of her achievements, he was associated with major IPOs and financings including Nestle, Dabur, Arvind Mills, Ranbaxy and others.

In 1990, he moved as a senior Banker to Dubai and handled all major Govt. corporations like Emirates Airlines, DEWA, DUBAL etc. Again in 1998, Achal Ghai moved to Canada with CIBC as Director:Western Canada. In 2004, Achal Ghai returned to Dubai to begin his entrepreneur journey and started various entities including Avigo Mauritius, which was commercially sold to Siguler Guff in 2014. Achal Ghai continued with his Dubai business under Azara Capital and Legacy.

( Azara and Legacy have incubated more than 5 joint ventures in the last 3 years in the GCC.

Achal Ghai is a avid Golfer and has won over 20 tournaments including the BMW International event. He is closely associated with Emirates Golf Club.
